The Association of Physiotherapists in Parkinson’s disease Europe (APPDE) is an international group of physiotherapists launched in 2000.
The APPDE mission is to support physiotherapy expertise in Parkinson’s and Parkinson’s and related disorders amongst clinicians, researchers, multidisciplinary team members, people with Parkinson’s their families, carers and policy makers to promote optimal physiotherapy practice across Europe and the world.

At present the APPDE is engaged in developing stronger bridges amongst members and the international Multidisciplinary Team for people with Parkinson’s.
The APPDE was one of the driving forces in the development of the European Physiotherapy Guideline for Parkinson’s Disease. The Guideline was initiated and mainly funded by ParkinsonNET and the Royal Dutch Society of Physical Therapy and at present the APPDE is actively involved in the process of guideline implementation.
